About the project
Time To Plate started as a personal frustration. Hosting a dinner party for ten — let alone a holiday meal for thirty — means juggling recipes you've collected from a dozen places, a timing puzzle that has to land every dish hot at the same moment, a guest list with allergies and preferences that can't be a footnote, and a shopping run that has to cover all of it without doubling up.
Mad Monkey Creative built Time To Plate to handle that whole flow in one application. Cooks bring their recipes in, guests RSVP through the platform with their dietary needs, and a real-time scheduler walks the cook through the day in reverse from the time the meal is served. It's part recipe manager, part event planner, part air-traffic-control for the oven.
It runs as a hosted SaaS at timetoplate.com, designed mobile-first because the cook needs the screen in one hand while the whisk is in the other.
Project goals
- Replace a stack of recipe apps, calendars, and spreadsheets with one home for the whole event
- Make timing visible and adjustable in real time so nothing arrives cold
- Capture every guest's allergies and preferences once and surface them automatically against recipes
